Warning...liquid lead art is dangerously habit forming, and VERY addictive to any artist
There are 3 ways to upgrade your art skills via hands on instruction by the pros
1) LOCAL APPRENTICE CLASSES These are held in sunny Las Vegas. Classes are limited to only 4 students . Potential apprentices are selected only after a pre-screening of skills. Excellent drawing skills are a prerequisite too mastering this media with its wide array of grayscale tools. Individual masterpieces are created through hands on, PERSONAL instruction with an amazing 2 masters to every 4 student class. This type of education is best for artists within driving distance of our studio. All supplies materials, equipment and instruction are provided by the studio. Classes are 3 hours twice a week with at least that much work done between class sessions. This media (as well as most extreme realism in art) is TIME INTENSIVE. The average masterpiece takes between 30 to 200 hours to complete.
The advantage to this type of apprentice is that Each apprentice can be mentored much more personally, effectively ,masterpiece by masterpiece, class by class, month by month. Most of our top artists have come from this approach since 1994.Many we now consider family. Our approach is very aggressive , intense, and results oriented. Artist seeking basic airbrush , or more social art courses will not be considered.( We can, however, refer you to other art programs who can meet these needs.)
The studio teaches the following skills to its local apprentices :CHARCOAL, LEADS, LIQUID LEAD, PASTEL, AIR PASTEL, ULTIMATE OILS, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP C.S. 2 , ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR C.S. 2, ADOBE IMAGE READY, Corel PAINTER 9, DREAM WEAVER SUITE, BRYCE 5.5, DAZ, as well as many other software aids to fine artists. The Studio has 4 stations each equipped with an Iwata custom micron C, bottom fed Iwata eclipse, 30 inch LCD monitor, 40 by 60 inch art station, high end computer tower, wacom tablet, all art supplies and surfaces.
Most of our apprentices are fine artists, focusing on realism and the Liquid Lead media. The use of design and concept software as well as drawing by viewing reference on large monitors with zoom tools, instead of just print reference seems to separate the good artists from the great. The studio also has a state of the art print program. Our high end wide format Epson printers allows us too take great apprentice art and turn them into large high end water proof canvas, vellum, watercolor paper, and glossy prints.

2) WEEKEND WARRIOR APPRENTICE These apprentices are usually artists who live too far away for bi weekly classes, but live close enough to drive to the studio 3 Saturdays of each month ( the 4th being reserved for the once a month "Weekend Getaway"). These are held in sunny Las Vegas. Classes are limited to only 4 students . Potential apprentices are selected only after a pre-screening of skills. Excellent drawing skills are a prerequisite too mastering this media with its wide array of grayscale tools. Individual masterpieces are created through hands on, PERSONAL instruction with an amazing 2 masters to every 4 student class. These students get the same number of hours in a month of class as bi weekly students ( roughly 30) , but do it over 3 X 10 hours Saturday marathons. Again, at least as many hours are spent between class on the masterpieces, and these students get the same advanced attention as "regular apprentices". Because only 4 students are taught per class, only 4 apprentices are every considered as "weekend warriors". The slots are in high demand, and probably wont be available on first attempt. We aim to please, but if this is your only option , let us know as soon as possible. Slots do open up from time to time.

3) WEEKEND GETAWAYS The second weekend of every month from Thursday through Sunday is reserved for our infamous 4 day marathons. These apprentices are artists who usually live in other cities, states or countries. Weekend getaways are reserved for Liquid lead and Air pastels only. We attempt to teach in a single 4 day period 3 months worth of instruction and attention. Its fun but is a definite MARATHON. Like any of our courses, the apprentice selects subject matter. Day one is reserved for arranging subject matter, software side composition, and projection, as well as brushing up on any needed airbrushing skills. The rest of the days are spent creating a single masterpiece with worlds of new media, new tools, techniques, and style. We usually see a 200% quality increase from artists brand new to liquid lead.
These courses also only support 4 students, and fill up quickly. a large number of our weekend Getaway apprentices are former artists. As per our other courses, we provide everything on the art end. Apprentices will ,however ,have to arrange hotel. Because of the relatively small size of our course , we personalize these courses , and have no problem picking up, our frequent flyers from Las Vegas airport as well as driving them to and from local hotels. If this is your first getaway, we help accommodate you in many ways.
We have on location, a pool, hot tub, spa, full gym , workout center in the studio, as well as being minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip restaurants and shops. We have it all, as long as the accommodations don't become more exciting than your art. Supply always exceeds demand on these getaways....SO CALL AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
